Why Andrew?

Andrew is leading the Customer Design team at H&R Block delivering new, engaging client experiences. His group is focused on tapping, testing, writing remarkable experiences that deliver expertise and care. Andrew is energized by creating new ideas, building teams, and making work that is modern and visually bold.

Andrew was previously the Sr. Director, Global Brand Digital, where he led the team in redesigning Sonos.com, becoming a modern, mobile-first education and eComm experience. His design and content team was responsible for designing, writing, and publishing the brand expression for Sonos.com, CRM, and Digital Retail. Andrew was also the Creative Director for product marketing within the Sonos Art Department, delivering the creative toolkit to launch Sonos One and Sonos Beam. He designed the product and partnership creative for first-ever IKEA Symfonisk product line and Limited Edition Sonos One with HAY. Andrew joined Sonos in 2014 the Director, Global Brand Design. He built out the creative and production team while leading projects including new brand identity, advertising campaigns, lifestyle photography, packaging and retail displays.

Prior to Sonos, Andrew was the Director of Bruce Mau Design, Los Angeles, where he lead a talented 5-10 person studio designing brands, visual identities, and communication touchpoints for clients including Sonos, Proper Hospitality, Adidas, Tiger Woods Foundation, Lokai and Halo Neuroscience.

Andrew was an Experience Designer at Minimal focusing on Brand and Communication design for clients, start-ups and entrepreneurial projects. He served as Art Director for all brand touch-points including packaging, web and social communications for Minimal’s self-started brand LUNATIK. Andrew joined Bruce Mau Design as a designer in their Toronto and Chicago offices where he completed a wide spectrum of communications, brand, social media, vision, architectural and experience design projects for academic institutions, global brands, and corporations. Prior to Bruce Mau Design, Andrew practiced architecture at Gensler completing the headquarters for Amcol and several concept designs within the Emerging Studio.

Raised in parts of the Midwest and Texas, he survived fifteen winters in Chicago where he graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a BA in Architectural Studies.

Andrew is hanging out in Kansas City with his heroic wife Ann and their three kiddos.
