Teresa Rench

Director, Experience Design Slalom Build

Why Teresa?

Teresa is a design thinker, design maker, and futurist with 20+ years of experience wearing as many hats as necessary to deliver exceptional digital and omni-channel customer experiences.

When Teresa started her career in digital, there wasn't nearly the level of differentiation and specialization that we see today. She did everything: back-end, front-end, database, design, content, user research and more. And as her career and experience progressed, she gravitated towards Design. She is obsessed with the combination of art and science that is creating experiences that people love; that meet true needs and improve their lives. Teresa's years of consulting gave her the experience in understanding business objectives and combining them with customer needs to design holistic experiences that achieve both. She learned how important it is to be collaborative - to allow the collective knowledge of a team to shape the outcome.

Teresa is most passionate about tackling big, hairy, ambiguous challenges that allow her to use all parts of her brain and all of the skills that she has gained over the years while continuing to learn and add new ones. She has found this in using human-centered design and collaboration to create long-term experience strategy and vision that drives more innovative, customer-facing experiences. As a leader, she is focused on enabling design teams to achieve all of the things that drew her to the profession.

Currently, Teresa has built and is leading a visionary Experience Strategy and Design team of senior-level practitioners with the goal of evangelizing human-centered design and innovation practices across the enterprise at Wells Fargo. Her team devises repeatable, collaborative processes and inspiring artifacts that enable them to establish a shared, customer-centric, aspirational vision of the bank’s future experiences across channels, touchpoints, products, and services.
