Why Leo?

Leo is the founder of Abound Innovation Inc. His mission is to transform people and organizations into an army of everyday innovators. Leo brings 20+ years of experience to the world of innovation and creativity.

He’s the former Senior Innovation Lead at Chick-fil-A and former innovator at State Farm Insurance. Leo was the catalyst for a thriving culture of innovation at Chick-fil-A. He previously led the Innovation Coach program and successfully created innovation practitioners and champions throughout the organization. He taught individuals the mindsets and skills to become innovators. He also redesigned Hatch, Chick-fil-A’s 30,000 sq. ft. Innovation Center and transformed it into an epicenter for innovation. Last, he created innovation events attended by 1000+ employees.

Leo is an expert on innovation & creativity. He's spoken at the Front End of Innovation, CreativeMornings, STORY, IAF Global Summit, SASE NC Pro, National Restaurant Association, CX Talks, MRMW North America, and the Creative Problem Solving Institute. Leo is also certified in highly-applicable innovation disciplines including: LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, Human Centered Design, Creative Problem Solving, Virtual Facilitation and Creativity Coaching. He’s a formerly trained graphic designer – deeply knowing the world of creativity and how to bring it into Corporate innovation.

The creation, sharing and exchange of ideas is the foundation of innovation. However, these things can be vulnerable and scary. This human element of innovation can be the roadblock that prevents organizations from truly innovating.


So how do you create the conditions for success to enable a free flow of ideas in innovation for oneself and others? The answer is psychological safety.


Psychological safety is foundational for innovation and it's also the most important factor for effective and successful teams (according to Project Aristotle, Google's two year research study on 180 teams.)


In this experiential workshop, participants will learn what it takes to cultivate a healthy environment that empowers courageous innovation. Participants will be equipped with tools to develop this for themselves and others. In this workshop, participants will:


- See the difference between safe and unsafe environments

- Learn what it takes to cultivate a healthy, safe environment that empowers courageous innovators

- Be equipped with tools to develop this for themselves and others
