Melissa Dalrymple is a Partner at
McKinsey Design, based in Chicago. As one of the leaders in McKinsey Design,
she is focused on continuing to build design’s role in the
c-suite as a human-centered problem solving method. Prior to McKinsey, she held
leadership roles at premier innovation firms including IDEO, Doblin and
Rockwell Group
in both the US and Europe.
Melissa focuses on bringing design,
customer insights and analytics together to help companies be more responsive
to customer needs and more relevant in the marketplace. Her work leverages
strategy and design to develop new experiences and shape organizations to build
and support them over time. At McKinsey, her work spans industries and has
included building an end-to-end digital insurance company,
redesigning the cruiseline of
the future and rethinking a hotel chain’s innovation strategy.
Melissa holds a BA from Yale and a MA from Johns Hopkins (both in Art History) and an MBA from Harvard. She is a frequent speaker and guest lecturer at programs on Design Thinking and its role in transforming businesses.
